our story

Kevin, Laura & their 3 daughters moved across the country from Queens, New York to San Diego in 2017 with a heart for seeing lives transformed. Once their family arrived in San Diego they heard about a weekly dinner for those who lived on the streets.

On the first night Kevin attended, pizza was served to 6 guests. While serving that evening, the man hosting the dinner told Kevin that he & his family were moving out of San Diego.

"Would you be up for taking over the dinner on Tuesdays?" he asked Kevin.

Kevin told Laura after his very first night serving, "If we're hosting, I think we should cook whatever we would eat." Since 2017 Kevin, Laura, their daughters (& now many others!) are still hosting every week but the dinner that started as half a dozen people from San Diego's homeless community has grown to 150 - 200.

It was through the weekly gathering and sitting around the table with people, that Kevin & Laura started making friends. In 2018, they were able to begin assisting friends whose desire was to get free from addiction and the streets.

“We listened to peoples’ stories as they shared their hopes, dreams, and then we found treatment & recovery programs that matched their needs,” Laura recalls.

We See You still does that today.

Since June of 2017, thanks to the partnership of hundreds of compassionate families & individuals from all over San Diego, churches, local & national companies, and foundations, We See You has been able to offer people, who are so often unseen, dignity, honor, hope, and pathways to new life.
